PICK OF THE LITTER Meet a new standout puppy from the Canine Partners of the Rockies Puppy Program “HOLLY”Canine Partners of the Rockies puppy Holly is being raised in Boulder, CO. Holly is approximately 7 months old and is stopping traffic with her shiny black coat and black eyes that look into your soul – she is irresistible. But along with being adorable, Holly can also be mischievous (big money mischievous) – if she isn’t in her kennel and you can’t see or hear her – BEWARE!! Holly likes to chew on anything and everything. Holly is working hard on learning to only chew on her own toys. Holly is a very smart puppy and learns her commands very quickly – her favorite command is “release”. Release for Canine Partners means whatever command the puppy has been given (sit, wait, stand, down, etc) the puppy can now move out of the command position and do as he/she wishes (within reason of course). This command is especially helpful at meal times when it is used to teach self control – the CaPR puppy cannot eat from the dish until the RELEASE command is given. As with most of CaPR’s puppies, SNOW is always fun. Holly likes to eat the snow – yummy. Holly loves to be with her puppy raiser and other people too. CaPR dogs must be able to interact using polite manners with anyone; people in uniforms or costumes, people using walkers and crutches, people walking their pet dog, babies and toddlers, teenagers wearing roller blades or on a skateboard and elderly people too. This is all part of a service dog’s training.
