MEET KATE, PUPPY RAISER OF FOURTH SERVICE DOG IN TRAINING, ZUNI
“I have been involved with CAPR and puppy raising since I first took care of Mason for a period of time in 2015. I have since housed Levi, Reudi, and now Zuni. Mason, Levi and Reudi have successfully moved on to their partners which I am thrilled to see. It means a lot to give to others, especially those who benefit so much from these amazing animals.
I am now raising Zuni and I am impressed by how intelligent, happy, playful, well-behaved, and telepathic she is. All of the dogs are so intuitive, anticipating needs and knowing when something is awry. Zuni saved my house from an overflowing sink, alerting us to water running freely when it shouldn’t have been. I love having a built-in alarm clock and an exercise companion while I contribute to her higher education and future work.

Being involved in CAPR as a whole has helped me in many ways, by connecting me to other like-minded, dog loving individuals who are now friends. It’s wonderful to be involved with a group of people moving toward a greater cause to help the dogs and their partners. I like to think we are all helping make people’s lives a bit better.”
