two hearts, four paws : Ester & Granby
Welcome back to our volunteer spotlight, "Two Hearts, Four Paws". Canine Partners of the Rockies is fueled by the amazing volunteers that dedicate their lives to helping Coloradans with disabilities lead more independent lives and we are grateful to have this space to appreciate them! This month, we chose to highlight Ester Kim, a first-time volunteer puppy raiser who has started her raising journey with Granby!
When asked how it's been working with Granby, Kim shared; "Working with Granby has really opened up my ability to approach situations with calm patience and understanding. He is a sweet boy with the purist heart so you can’t even get mad at him. It’s also so fun to see him learning new cues and take in new environments & experiences." |
"If you love dogs, look no further! It is an amazingly rewarding opportunity in which you receive as much as you give. Plus, there are many ways to volunteer depending on your availability/level of commitment! Raising is high commitment/high reward but sitting is also a great opportunity. I am always SO grateful to the many sitters opening up their homes and offering their time to watch Granby as well" Kim shared about her experience raising with Canine Partners. |
We asked Kim, if you could say something to your dog's future client, what would you say? This is what she shared; "You are so lucky to be partnered with this gentle giant! He’s a lover, cuddler, and master at fetch. Show him love and patience (and peanut butter!) and he’ll never leave your side!"
If you are interested in raising a puppy like Granby, we would love for you to get involved.
