Canine Partners of the Rockies Puppy Training Exercises This is Ike (blonde male), CaPR Service Dog In-Training with his new friend Flyer (black lab male). Flyer lives on 10 acres in Fort Collins, so he introduced Ike to some new experiences. CaPR puppies need to experience as many new environments as possible during their training. Above, Ike is seeing a baby cow for the first time. Ike wasn’t frightened, but needed to sniff around a bit more to get comfortable with the new environment (below). Ike never got too close to Winchester and Jonathan (the calves) – he kept a safe distance. The horses were very curious about the little white puppy. Ike got closer to the horses then he did the cows, but maybe the fence gave him a sense of security. Ike and Flyer played the tugging game. Rather, Flyer stood in one place while Ike tugged – a bit of a size difference between the two boys. They had lots of fun playing together in the yard. Ike had a very fun, but exhausting day in Fort Collins. Time for a little nap under the table.
A big puppy thanks to Flyer for showing Ike some great new adventures.
